Powell's (1942) original description states:
"Shell small, ovate, with depressed spire, which is less than height of aperture. Spire whorls with a moderately strong subsutural fold and a medially situated, strong, rounded peripheral cord. The shoulder is deeply concave and there is a deep, narrow groove beneath the peripheral cord. 0n the base there are five broad, flat, linear spaced cords, followed by five narrowly rounded cords with interspaces twice the width of the cords, each interspace with a weaker cord. Narrow rounded axials, about 18 per whorl, extend from the periphery to the anterior canal and weakly connect across the shoulder, rendering both the subsutural fold and the peripheral cord gemmulate to weakly nodulous. Apical whorls missing in sole example."
